The Start: Christmas for a Hero
Our communities and our nation are protected by firefighters, police officers, service members, and more. We often meet them in worse times of our lives. But who is there for them when they or their families are going through a rough or traumatic event?
A Christmas for a Hero is an organization that helps our hero’s or their families during or after a traumatic time by providing family members, especially children, with Christmas gifts and monetary assistance.
During such times of crises, family members may be coping with the trauma and may not have the time or immediate financial resources due to medical or other expenses.
We work with local agencies to identify the needs and provide assistance, normally anonymously, through their department or agency.
Christmas for a Hero began operation in 2020 through the independent actions of our founders. We are looking to begin the 501(c)3 filing procedures in 2023.
